Create a Manufactured Product

How to create a Manufactured product with a Bill of Materials for Works Orders

STEP 1

Under 'Catalog & Inventory,' select 'Inventory.'

STEP 2

Click + to add a new product

STEP 3

You must either create a product name, or copy from another product to create the new product. Click the check when complete.

STEP 4

When setting up the product, ensure the 'Product Type = Manufactured'. You can also use 'Finished Product' here. You will get the 'Bill of Materials' tab (which is what you will require) in both instances.

STEP 5

Select the 'Bill of Materials' tab and click the + to add a 'part' to your Bill of Materials.

Add as many parts to build the item. A 'part' is the item that makes up the actual main product. You can also select to add 'Text' items to the Bill of Materials. These text items are used for Works Orders and Manufacturing instructions. Click through the checkmarks to complete and save.
